Recalibrating Your Worth: A Path to Clarity and Alignment

I have always found that the best way to deepen our understanding of the world is by weaving together effective strategies and frameworks to create a third layer of insight. This layered approach reveals patterns, connections, and truths that a single perspective might miss. In this blog, we explore how tying together Suzy Ashworth's three levels of worth (intrinsic, experiential, and leveraged) with Ken Wilber's three eyes of knowing (the Eye of Flesh, Eye of Mind, and Eye of Spirit) can illuminate the ways we perceive, project, and create our reality.

The Three Levels of Worth

In the book Infinite Receiving, Suzy Ashworth unravels and demystifies the often misunderstood concept of worth. The worth guru teaches there is more than one level of worth. Many times we can improve our lives by simply becoming aware of where were are actually experiencing the feeling of lack. Most times, the feeling of worthlessness is a mistranslated signal being projected and cascaded onto the other levels of experience.

  1. Intrinsic Worth is the value we assign to our very being. It’s the foundation of how we see ourselves and is rooted in our sense of inherent worthiness.
  2. Experiential Worth reflects the value we place on our life experiences—the meaning and lessons we derive from them.
  3. Leveraged Worth represents the tangible expressions of our value in the world, including resources, wealth, and influence.

These layers of worth form a continuum, cascading from intrinsic self-perception to the external manifestations of our reality. When misaligned, they can cast shadows, distorting how we see and interact with the world.

Ken Wilber’s Three Eyes of Knowing

Ken Wilber’s framework of the three eyes—the Eye of Flesh, the Eye of Mind, and the Eye of Spirit—offers a way to understand how we perceive reality:

  1. The Eye of Flesh focuses on sensory experience, the physical world, and tangible reality.
  2. The Eye of Mind processes thoughts, narratives, and rational understanding.
  3. The Eye of Spirit accesses intuitive and contemplative insight, connecting us to universal truths. This is where tools like depth-work, shadow work, recovery programs, psychedelics, meditation and the like operate from.

Each eye offers a distinct way of knowing, but together they form a holistic approach to understanding our existence. When aligned with the three levels of worth, they reveal how constructs running at any level can ripple through the others.

The Shadow of Misalignment

"When we anchor our worth in external validation, we build a house of cards. True worth comes from within—it is the foundation for everything else we create."  Infinite Receiving

Due to the overarching impact of a spiritual block, it will give us the greatest perspective of the impact worth has in our life. Intrinsic worth shapes the clarity of the Eye of Spirit. If we operate from a belief of unworthiness, the Eye of Spirit becomes clouded, casting shadows that distort our perception of universal truths. When we carry the belief, "I am unworthy or worthless," There is a shadow that is cast down or projected onto the other layers:

  • At the Mental Level (Eye of Mind): Misaligned intrinsic worth creates limiting narratives. For example, a perception of lack might lead to stories of inadequacy or scarcity that drive self-defeating patterns. We feeling like a loser so we experience a declination towards losing.
  • At the Physical Level (Eye of Flesh): These narratives manifest as tangible outcomes—strained relationships, financial struggles, or external conflicts that mirror internal disconnection. We have an orientation or declination from the certainty of lack of resources, whatever the resource may be.

Wilber explains, "The eye of contemplation reveals a dimension of reality that the other two eyes cannot see, but it depends on the clarity of the individual." When a limiting construct operates at any level, it blocks this clarity, misguiding our awareness and leading us to push against perceived enemies or obstacles that may not even exist. Ironically, this resistance often invites the very challenges we seek to avoid.

The Cascade of Worth

Each layer of worth is embodied and projected by the layer below it. This cascade creates a fractal pattern of influence:

  1. Intrinsic Worth (Eye of Spirit): Forms the foundation. When clear and aligned, it radiates unfiltered light to the layers below. When distorted, it casts shadows that shape our narratives and actions. This is the "I AM" principle. We will do anything to stay consistent and persistent with the labels and roles we use to define ourselves. Especially if they are survival-rooted.
  2. Experiential Worth (Eye of Mind): Embodies the lessons and stories shaped by intrinsic worth. It organizes these into coherent (or incoherent) narratives that influence how we perceive and engage with life. Have you ever met someone who was always looking for ways an experience was bad? How about a sore loser? They are stuck in a declination from "bad" experiences and are trigger happy in experiential ways.
  3. Leveraged Worth (Eye of Flesh): Represents the physical manifestations of our internal states and narratives. It reflects how aligned or misaligned we are across all layers. Someone has a worth impacting construct of meaning loaded here will always orient from a declination of lack of resources.

When Constructs Block the Other Levels

Misalignment doesn’t always begin at the intrinsic level. Each layer has a cascading impact on the layers below it. When intrinsic worth is distorted, the resulting misalignment cascades through the mental and physical layers, creating a self-reinforcing cycle of disconnection.Conversely, re-calibrating intrinsic worth realigns the cascade, allowing light and clarity to flow through all layers.A self-defeating construct at any layer can disrupt the flow of worth and clarity across all three eyes of knowing:

  1. Experiential Worth Blocking at the Rational Level:
    • When experiential worth is clouded by unresolved or limiting constructs, it can block the Eye of Mind. This often leads to distorted narratives about our experiences, such as viewing challenges as failures rather than growth opportunities. These mental blocks prevent rational clarity, causing us to repeat negative patterns or avoid engaging with reality effectively.
    • Example: If someone perceives their past failures as definitive, they may resist taking risks or reframe every new opportunity as doomed.
  1. Physical Worth Blocking Leveraged Wealth:
    • When leveraged worth is disrupted, it can block the Eye of Flesh. This manifests as a lack of tangible results or resources, often rooted in misaligned narratives or intrinsic fears. For instance, scarcity-driven beliefs may lead to self-sabotage, overcompensation, or an inability to fully leverage available opportunities.
    • Example: A person may hoard resources out of fear of losing them, preventing flow and growth, or avoid using their skills because they fear judgment or failure.

Recalibrating Your Worth

To break free from these patterns, we must recalibrate our worth starting at the intrinsic level. By addressing the foundational constructs shaping our perception, we can realign the layers of worth and their corresponding eyes of knowing.

Steps to Recalibrate:

  1. Identify the Speck: Reflect on limiting beliefs or constructs that may be clouding your intrinsic worth. Ask yourself, What am I resisting? What story am I telling myself about my inherent value?
  2. Reframe the Narrative: Shift experiential worth by rewriting the mental stories that reinforce lack or fear. Embrace lessons from your past as opportunities for growth rather than evidence of failure.
  3. Cultivate with Intention: Use leveraged worth to embody alignment. Take conscious actions that reflect your re-calibrated intrinsic and experiential worth.

Conclusion

Re-calibrating your worth is not just about recognizing your value; it’s about realigning the cascade of knowing that shapes your reality. By clearing the shadows of limiting constructs, you open the flow of light and truth through the spiritual, mental, and physical realms. This alignment empowers you to live more consciously, create more intentionally, and embody the fullness of your worth.

Let’s explore this together Thursday night in our Living Consciously session. Bring your curiosity, your questions, and your willingness to realign your sense of worth and illuminate the path forward.
