Evolving the Collective Story From Hero to Genius

Our lives have been framed by what Joseph Campbell called the Hero's Journey for millennia. This old story told of individual quests for glory, triumph, and personal achievement. While it inspired countless tales of bravery, it often left us disconnected and stuck on the surface of the greater fabric of existence. We become programmed to orient from without.

This surface-dwelling orientation tethers us to a materialistic society where we chase pseudo-fulfillment through consumption. The result is the maintenance of fractal loops of unconscious hero's journeys projected onto the experience of our reality. Too much... too woo-woo? OK, it means the suffering you live out of is a highly evolved structure and pattern of thought you unconsciously both build and try desperately to free yourself from. The result is an experience of expansion and subtraction that is both hollow and self-imprisoning, like a dog chasing its own tail (or tale).

Today, we stand at a crossroads, facing the limitations of this old narrative. The velocity of change has become constant, demanding a rewrite at the most fundamental levels. Eventually, more than the surface experience is needed. We are called to turn within and face the depth of who we truly are. The transition is not easy; many need help reorienting to the deeper meaning as the familiar path fades away. But this moment is ripe with potential. It’s time to move beyond individual quests and embrace a collective journey. Its a time to start to move from a deeper level of purpose and creation that the surface can contain.

Welcome to the Genius Story. It took 3.5 billion years for the universe to shape the unique expression that is you. Your time at the window of existence is a rare gift. To both you and the universe. You are the rarest and one of the shortest experienced creation that the universe can produce. Your purpose? To let the unique expression of self—your true genius—flow through.

In this context, genius refers not just to intelligence or extraordinary talent but to the unique, authentic expression of one's inner self. It embodies the essence of who you are at your core—the distinct light that has taken billions of years to manifest. Genius, in its original context, means the unique expression of the universe coming through you. We have reduced its meaning to a select few to align with the Hero's Journey, from which we are programmed to orient meaning. This more profound definition points to the innate brilliance within every person yearning for expression. It's the voice of the universe flowing through your one-of-a-kind structure. This force connects personal purpose with a more extraordinary story that can't be expressed in the old story, sparking a collective evolution. When I use genius, I speak of this profound inner quality that, when expressed, inspires others to connect with and bring forth their own unique expression, creating a ripple effect of transformation.

Aligning to this new story plugs us into the path right before us. We find that not only are we on the road, but we have always been. This reorientation will heal the fractal, disconnected experience surface dwelling creates and evolve our collective experience of reality.
